Northeast Laboratory Services Hires Harold Flachsbart as Director of Environmental Chemistry.

Winslow, ME – December 19, 2011 – Northeast Laboratory Services announced today it has hired Harold Flachsbart as the new director of their Environmental Chemistry Department.

Flachsbart holds a BS in chemistry from Rutgers State University and has over 20 years of experience within the analytical chemistry industry. Flachsbart comes from a Director of Analytical Services position at GAC Chemical Corporation and fills a position left open nearly a year ago by James Galasyn.

Interim Director, Paul Lynch will resume his responsibilities as Environmental Health & Safety Officer and continue to perform radon analysis, inorganic testing and field sampling.

Flachsbart will oversee and manage NEL’s Environmental Chemistry Division which currently employs eight people including the Environmental Health & Safety Officer, the QA/QC Officer, the Inorganic Supervisor, a laboratory technician and three analysts.

Flachsbart’s educational background and experience level will allow NEL to comply with and adhere to NELAC/NELAP standards.

NEL’s Chemistry Division includes three distinct units: general chemistries, inorganic and radiological chemistry. NEL holds environmental laboratory certifications in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut and Rhode Island. .

NEL is a full-service, accredited laboratory providing a wide range of environmental analytical chemistry and microbiology testing services, and manufactured microbiological prepared media products.

NEL conducts all projects using USEPA, FDA, ASTM, AOAC and other Standard Reference Methods.
